Happy New Year: Gearing Up for 2012 Online Productivity
Well, most of us have rung in the New Year and are returning back to our work routines and are facing the ongoing challenges that having an online blog can pose. What with many of the vast changes that have occurred in the last few months in social media, video and other online sources the tasks can be daunting.
As a matter of fact, if the stats are correct, many small businesses haven’t launched their blogs and are therefore further behind the curve on getting their small business’ online marketing rolling. My best advice is to get some general information on what needs to be done and get started, you can always refine the process as you develop new skills and you gain more traffic. Don’t fall into the dreaded symptom of “paralysis through over-analysis”.
That was my problem, as a graphic designer, I kept trying to perfect every detail before getting started and after reviewing a few blogs, I realized I was the stumbling block in my own small business marketing efforts. I launched this blog using WordPress’ awesome and intuitive free platform and deemed it a work in progress keeping the budget for this blog’s development and maintenance at a shoestring minimum and the goals for it’s growth at conservative estimates as well. (It’s only a little bit over one year old! Yes, it’s a baby in the blog world.)
As for this blog, we’ve done pretty well this past year (2011) , beyond our expectations, it especially started gaining traction in July of 2011 and has shown great growth in traffic since then. I would like to extend my thanks to all who have visited and commented. We are definitely refining and setting goals as to how to proceed for this year and improve our phenomonal growth and blog’s usability and content.
